Lactulose is a colonic acidifier that works by increasing stool water content and softening the stool. It is a man-made sugar solution.

Recommended Dosage:
Adults and adolescents :
Starting dose daily: 15 - 45 ml
Maintenance dose daily: 15 - 30 ml

Children (7 - 14 years) :
Starting dose daily : 15 ml
Maintenance dose daily: 10 - 15 ml

Children (1 - 6 years) :
Starting dose daily: 5 - 10 ml
Maintenance dose daily: 5 - 10 ml

Infants under 1 year :
Starting dose daily: up to 5 ml
Maintenance dose daily: up to 5 ml

You may take Duphalac oral solution diluted or undiluted
