Ural Effervescent Granules

Description
Ural® is used to relieve discomfort in urinary tract infection (UTI) and painful urination. It is also used to prevent the formation of kidney stones in gout therapy. Ural® works as urinary alkaliser raising pH level of urine promoting dissolution of uric acid stones and providing relief of hyperacidity symptoms.

Ingredient
Sodium bicarbonate 1.76 g, tartaric acid 890 mg, citric acid anhydrous 720 mg, sodium citrate anhydrous 630 mg. Also contains: saccharin sodium, lemon oil flavouring.

Recommended dosage
For adults and children 12 years and over.
Dissolve 1-2 sachets in a glass of cold water. May be taken up to 4 times daily.

Contraindication
Renal failure or hypernatremia; in conjuction with hexamine mandelate or hexamine hippurate therapy because an acidic urine is needed. Caution is advised in overt and occult cardiac failure. Concomitant use of urinary alkalinisers and quinolone antibiotic should be avoided; crystalluria may be more likely to occur in alkaline urine.

Caution
This preparation contains 644mg of sodium per sachet which should be taken into account by those on a low sodium diet.
